Connect Claude
Add Whippy as a custom connector in claude.ai, Claude Desktop, and the Claude mobile apps.
Add Whippy once as a custom connector and it works everywhere you use Claude: claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Cowork, and the mobile apps. Custom connectors are available on Free (one connector), Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans.
Choose "Register automatically"When Claude asks how to identify itself to Whippy (OAuth client), pick Register automatically. Whippy doesn't support Claude's default option, Use Claude's published identity, and sign-in fails with it.
Pro and Max plans
- In Claude, go to Customize → Connectors.
- Select + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Enter:
- Name:
Whippy - Remote MCP server URL:
https://api.whippy.co/mcp
- Name:
- Select Continue, review the detected authentication settings, and select Continue again.
- Under Authentication, choose Sign in now.
- Under OAuth client, choose Register automatically.
- Leave Request headers empty and select Add.
- A Whippy sign-in page opens. Sign in, choose your workspace, and approve the connection.
Team and Enterprise plans
An Owner adds the connector once for the organization. Each member then connects with their own Whippy account, so Claude only sees what that member can see in Whippy.
Owner (once):
- Go to Organization settings → Connectors.
- Select Add, hover over Custom, and select Web.
- Enter Name
Whippyand Remote MCP server URLhttps://api.whippy.co/mcp, then select Continue twice. - Under Authentication, choose Sign in when needed.
- Under OAuth client, choose Register automatically.
- Leave Request headers empty and select Add.
Each member:
- Go to Customize → Connectors.
- Find Whippy (labeled Custom) and select Connect.
- Sign in to Whippy, choose your workspace, and approve.
Use it
In a chat, select + → Connectors and make sure Whippy is on. Then ask, for example:
Find contacts tagged "Spring Hiring" who haven't replied in 30 days and save them as a segment.
Claude asks before running each tool. Use Allow always only for read-only tools you trust; keep approvals for tools that send messages or change data.
Disconnect
Remove the connector from Customize → Connectors, and disconnect Claude in Whippy under Connected apps.
Claude Desktop config fileYou don't need
claude_desktop_config.json. That file is for local servers. Whippy's server is remote, so add it as a connector instead.
