Connect Cursor
Add the Whippy MCP server to Cursor with one click or with mcp.json.
Cursor supports Whippy's sign-in on the desktop app, on the web, and in Cursor Cloud Agents.
One-click install
The link opens Cursor and adds this server:
{ "url": "https://api.whippy.co/mcp" }Add it with mcp.json
mcp.jsonAdd Whippy to ~/.cursor/mcp.json to use it in every project, or to .cursor/mcp.json in a project to share it with your team:
{
"mcpServers": {
"whippy": {
"url": "https://api.whippy.co/mcp"
}
}
}Don't add headers or an auth block. Cursor registers itself with Whippy and runs the OAuth sign-in for you.
Sign in
- Open Customize in the sidebar and find whippy under MCP servers.
- Select the server's sign-in button.
- Your browser opens the Whippy sign-in page. Sign in, choose your workspace, and approve. Cursor returns you to the editor.
Use it
In Agent chat, ask:
Use Whippy to find the contact for [email protected] and summarize their open conversations.
Cursor asks before running each tool. You can allowlist read-only tools in your Run Mode settings and keep approvals for tools that send messages or change data.
Cursor Cloud Agents
Cloud Agents keep their own MCP sign-ins on Cursor's servers. Sign in to Whippy once from the server's Cloud row in Customize. Team admins can share the server with the team under Dashboard → Plugins & MCPs. Each teammate still signs in with their own Whippy account.
Troubleshooting
Open the Output panel (Cmd+Shift+U on macOS, Ctrl+Shift+U on Windows and Linux) and choose MCP Logs to see connection and sign-in errors. See also Troubleshooting.
Remove
Delete the whippy entry from mcp.json or turn it off in Customize, then disconnect Cursor in Whippy under Connected apps.
