Connect Windsurf

Add the server

Open ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json (in Windsurf: Cascade → MCP servers → Manage → View raw config) and add:

Save the file and refresh the MCP server list in Cascade.

Sign in

Windsurf opens the Whippy sign-in page in your browser. Sign in, choose your workspace, and approve. Windsurf receives the result on http://127.0.0.1:8765/auth/callback, so another program using port 8765 will make sign-in fail. Close it and try again.

Tool count

Cascade limits how many MCP tools it enables at once. Turn off the Whippy tools you don't need in the server's tool list, or use the compact endpoint in Tool limits.

Remove

Delete the whippy entry, then disconnect Windsurf in Whippy under Connected apps.
